Installation Dinner
October 5, 2008

Bill Morris was installed as President of the Woodside Terrace A.M. Kiwanis Club on October 5, 2008. Division 34 Lt. Governor Jim Stinger conducted the installation of Bill as President as well as Roy Souffront as President-Elect and Treasurer, Lynne Mercer as Secretary and Mike Akana as Past President.

The following board members began their second year of service:  Gil McCoy, Nicole McKay, and Margie Carrington.  Glenn Behm, George Kerewicz, Donna Vaillancourt begin their first year of a two year term.

The theme for the evening was “tail-gate party.” Former Lt. Governor Glenn Behm, in keeping with the spirit of the night, was delayed for a short period as he made his way back from the 49er game. Past Lt. Governor Bill Menafra and Ingrid Menafra from the DeAnza club were present, debunking past board and officers and presenting a Hixson award to Carol Stewart, who, among other great feats during the year, threw a great party for the installation dinner.

Past President Mike Akana acknowledged the hard work and support of all club members over the past year. Former Lt. Governor Gil McCoy gave his perspective of Mike, making a number of comparisons to a duck... all done by song.  George Kerewicz was presented Kiwanian of the Year.  A Dunlap award was presented to Margie Carrington.

Distinguised service awards were presented to Tessa Yeager, Stephen Dellinger, Gil McCoy and Lynne Mercer.

Lt. Governor Installation

On Sunday September 28 the Stanford Park Hotel, Bill Menafra stepped down and Jim Stinger was installed at the new Lt. Governor of Division 34. Our own Mike Akana was installed as Lt. Governor elect. Six club members attended, as well as their guests. Our new Cal-Nev-Ha governor, Dan Connelly was present, along with a good number of past Lt. Governors, guests from Division 34 and Division 12, our new regional Trustee (from Division 17), several Key Clubbers and the new Key Club Lt.Governor from their North Division, Geoff Lew (son of our club member Glenn Lew.) It was very enjoyable.
